CenturyLink – Corsicana Flood Recovery

Substantial rainfall hit the central Texas region in late October, 2015 causing a levy failure and wall of water that flooded the existing Corsicana telecommunications site. Water surpassed the 10-foot high flood wall built outside the facility and overran the two sump pumps in the compound. The wall of water washed out the railroad tracks adjacent to the site and consequently caused a train derailment, littering rail cars filled with cement along the area outside of the facility. A Disaster Recovery Trailer (DRT) with the necessary equipment was deployed adjacent to the 2015 expansion building located on higher ground 500 feet away. The new addition built in 2015 survived the flood and train derailment, but did not have sufficient capacity to serve the CenturyLink and all of the customers flooded at the original location. This project included disaster recovery and added three additional buildings alongside the new addition with services including: -Assist Network with the DRT placement and removal -Providing electrical and emergency power upgrade for the existing, new, and relocated buildings -Assist CenturyLink in effectively transitioning customers out of the flooded buildings to new recovered site -Decommission and clean up the flooded site including removing flood walls, concrete slabs, generator and utility services.
